What is PCS?

The PCS/Punjab Civil Services Examination is a PPSC-conducted exam for the appointment of applicants to various government agencies.

 

The PPSC is currently conducting hiring examinations for additional vacancies. Punjab PCS 2024 Eligibility: Essential Educational Qualifications and Language Requirements

Candidates for the PUNJAB PCS test in 2024 must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution in any discipline. PCS 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Although the dates have not yet been announced, the eligibility requirements remain intact. Candidates must evaluate their age, education level, country, and specific physical and medical conditions. 

 

AGE: Applicants for PCS 2024 must be between 21 and 37 years old. The maximum age limit for the positions of Deputy Superintendent Police and Deputy Superintendent Jail/ District Probation Officer (grade II) at Punjab Prison is 28 years old. Some exceptional candidates will be granted age relaxation, which is as follows:


 

  • Employees of the Government of India have an age relaxation of 45 years.
  • ST/OBC Punjab Police candidates can only apply until the age of 33.
  • SC/OBC applicants for other services - Age relaxation to 47 years of age
  • Female candidates: Age relaxation until 42 years of age
  • Physically Handicapped Candidates - Age relaxation to 47 years of age

Educational Qualifications:

The age requirement makes it clear that a candidate can only take the exam if he or she is a graduate in any specialisation. They may apply if they are in the final year of their graduating course.

Criteria for Physically Disabled People:

Candidates with visual sharpness of more than 6/60 or 20/200 (Stellen) in the better eye, cerebral palsy, or locomotor handicap are eligible for a scribe. The scribe must hold a 12th pass. They will be given an additional 20 minutes to complete their examination. 

Marital Status:

Candidates can apply for the examination regardless of their marital status.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:

Candidates can take the examination as many times as they like as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. 

 

The fee structure for PCS 2024 is as follows: SC/ST applicants pay Rs 500 for the application and Rs 625 for the examination.

 

Other candidates must pay the application cost of Rs 500 plus the examination fee of Rs 2500.

 

Physically handicapped candidates must pay an application cost of Rs 500 and an examination fee of Rs 1250.

 

  • Ex-servicemen simply have to pay the application fee of Rs 500.

Exam Pattern (PCS 2024)

The PCS 2024 exam pattern will be the same. Before the candidate is picked, he or she will go through three stages: preliminary, main, and interviews. The pattern for the various stages is.

 

PATTERN OF PRELIMS:

  • Mode: MCQ.
  • Number of papers: General Studies and Civil Service Aptitude Test.
  • The Civil Service Aptitude Test has 80 questions, whereas General Studies has 100.
  • Marks: 200 for each paper.
  • No negative marks.
  • Pattern for Mains: Descriptive mode.
  • Papers include English, Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script), Essay (English/Punjabi), and General Studies (I, II, III, IV).
  • Marks: 100 each (English and Punjabi), 150 Essays, and 250 each General Studies Paper.
  • No negative marks.

Interview Pattern

There is no set interview pattern. However, this round carries 150 points.
